Chromecast

Chromecast must be accessed via the MIFF Play Android app. For further information on how to use Chromecast, visit Google support.

Apple TV

We recommend downloading the MIFF Play app on Apple TV. Once logged in, your MIFF Play library will be populated with your rented films.

Alternatively, open MIFF Play in a Safari browser and AirPlay (via Apple TV) to your TV or projector. For further information on how to use AirPlay, visit Apple support.

Smart TV

Please connect to your smart TV using Chromecast, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, or an HDMI cable. We strongly advise against attempting to use the pre-installed browser on your smart TV to stream MIFF Play, as many devices are not inherently compatible with our software. Instead, please select one of the alternative ways to stream films from the list below.

Windows Computer

On versions of Windows 7, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10.
Open MIFF Play in Microsoft Edge. We recommend using the latest version of your browser as earlier versions may not be supported. Other browsers are supported such as Chrome, Firefox, and Opera, however playback may see a lower quality.

Apple Macintosh Computer

On versions of MacOS 10.12 or later.
Open MIFF Play in Safari. We recommend using the latest version of your browser as earlier versions may not be supported. Other browsers are supported such as Chrome, Firefox, and Opera, however playback may see a lower quality.

iPad or iPhone

Ensure you have rented the films via a desktop browser. To view, open the MIFF Play app. Once logged in, the films you have rented will appear in your library. To Airplay or cast to your TV, wait until the film file loads and select the Airplay/Casting icon in the corner of the film viewing screen. Ensure you are on the same internet as your TV for this to work.

Android tablet or phone

Open MIFF Play in your MIFF Play Android app. You can stream directly on your device, or Chromecast from your device to your TV or projector.

HDMI

Open MIFF Play in your browser and connect your computer directly to your TV or projector using an HDMI cable. This will put the least strain on your home wi-fi to ensure you can stream at the highest possible quality*. Please ensure the browser is up to date.
